#OTD On This Day, August 24, 2003, Chuck James of the Danville Braves, an Atlanta Braves farm team, pitched a game in Danville, Virginia. James was called up to Atlanta in 2005 and played for the Braves for four years. He underwent surgery on his shoulder in September 2008, repairing a torn labrum as well as a torn rotator cuff. James missed all of 2009 recovering from the surgery. He came back to pitch in eight games for the Twins in 2011, then retired in 2012. Following his retirement from baseball, James worked for Window World.
